Serie A: The Chase for Top Four Places is Bubbling Up

With 15 games to go, the race for the Scudetto is, once again, truly compelling, and it looks like the Serie A title is heading to Milan, with Inter at the top of the table, five points ahead of I Rossoneri and with reigning champions Napoli a further four points further back.

While I Nerazzurri look likely to be running away from the pack, with AC Milan in the hottest pursuit, the battle for Champions League places is finely balanced. And the three main players, Napoli, Juventus and AS Roma, all have a good chance to pick up three vital points this weekend.

Napoli are currently on 46 points, Juventus on 45, and Roma on 43, while the upstarts of Como are not out of the race with 41 points, but they have a week off. So let’s run the SBOTOP rule over the other three, who play on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Genoa vs Napoli

The 2025 Scudetto winners have fallen off the pace recently. And while Napoli are not entirely out of the race, the Serie A 2026 betting odds have taken a sharp turn towards Milan. One of the most pivotal and damaging for Napoli of all the Serie A 2026 results was a 3-0 loss to Juventus, a match they went into with a host of players sidelined. I Partenopei followed that up with a Champions League loss to Chelsea, a result which saw Napoli crash out of Europe’s premier competition.

But Antonio Conte’s men got back to winning ways last week with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Fiorentina, thanks to goals from midfielder Antonio Vergara and wing-back Miguel Gutierrez.

While Napoli are still missing some key players, Kevin De Bruyne among them, Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku is back to fitness, and 2025 Player of the Year Scott McTominay remains a powerful presence with five goals and three assists. Striker Rasmus Hojlund, with six goals and two assists, will be keen to keep Lukaku out of the side, and he looks ready to start again on Saturday.

Genoa are in 14th place and looking over their shoulders, and they will be a danger in front of their own fans. 23-year-old forward Lorenzo Colombo, with five goals and one assist, will be worth keeping an eye on.

Napoli are priced at 1.95 to win, with the draw at 3.10, and a Genoa win is at 4.25.

Juventus vs Lazio

Juventus rely on Kenan Yildiz in their Serie A push and will expect him to shine once again against Genoa

As two of Serie A’s royalty, Juve and Lazio have had plenty of battles over the years, and they are ready to get it on again in Turin. Both come into the game on the back of a win, with Juventus thumping Parma 4-1, while Lazio edged a five-goal thriller at home to Genoa.

Kenan Yildiz, with eight goals and four assists, is I Bianconeri’s most productive player, and he scored a crucial goal in Juventus’ recent win over Napoli, a result which dragged the champions back into the pack while lifting the Old Lady into the top four.

Jonathan David, with five goals and four assists, has been a powerful presence up front, and he scored in the win over Parma. Meanwhile, eighth-place Lazio had skipper Danilo Cataldi to thank for their win over Genoa, as he coolly converted a penalty 10 minutes into injury time.

Juventus are hot favourites to win this clash at odds of 1.50, with the draw at 4.00 and Lazio at 8.00.

Roma vs Cagliari

Gian Piero Gasperini’s move from Atalanta to AS Roma made the big news last summer, and the experienced coach has worked the same magic in Rome that he did in Bergamo for many seasons. But a loss last week away to Udinese put a halt to Roma’s progress, and now they must get back to winning ways at home to Cagliari.

Argentine forward Matias Soule has scored six goals and made four assists for Roma, and he will be a thorn in the Cagliari defence. Lorenzo Pellegrini is back to his best, and he scored a crucial penalty when Roma recently met AC Milan, the spot kick giving I Giallorossi an unexpected point.

This game won’t be easy, though. Cagliari have climbed away from trouble with three consecutive league wins, including a 1-0 victory over Juventus, thanks to a goal from Luca Mazzitelli.

But Roma are highly fancied at odds of 1.54, with the draw at 3.95 and a Cagliari win at 7.85.
